The elow app gives businesses and ordinary people information on the scale of their digital carbon footprint, so that they can help bring on the energy transition. Let us tell you how !
Did you know that the electricity that our equipment runs on comes from various production sources with differing levels of CO2 emissions? By choosing the right time to recharge your equipment, put the washing machine on or lower your electric heating, you can significantly reduce your carbon footprint. To find out if you’re a carbon-friendly digital user, there’s now a new application. Elow wants you to be aware of your CO2 emissions and the impact of your digital consumption so that we can guide you towards responsible transition with our range of green energy offers.
Elow – reaching out to ordinary people to raise awareness on digital sobriety and responsible technology
Education and awareness-raising is the main pillar of the elow app. The 100% online solution, developed jointly with Microsoft, is available to everyone and can be downloaded in just a few clicks. All you have to do is install it and allow it to access your computer equipment. The app monitors CO2 emissions in real time and identifies their origins. The CO2 indicator enables users to adopt good practice, such as knowing what’s the best time to recharge their computer battery. Elow is based on data supplied by grid managers and analyses data production in real time by sector (gas-fired thermal plant, solar panels, wind turbines, hydroelectric dams, etc.) to uninterruptedly calculate the carbon impact of electricity production using IPCC data.
